The Free Church Congregation in Point, Isle of Lewis, was formed in 1963. It has been worshipping in a large church building opposite Bayble School. The manse is situated in Branahuie, overlooking the Minch, at the west end of a narrow stretch of land called the Braighe, which gives access to the pensinsula known as Point.
Three ministers have served the congregation of Point. Rev John Macsween ministered there from 1966 to 1976. He was widely regarded as one of the foremost pastor-theologians Lewis ever produced. Rev John Macleod ministered at Point from 1977 to 1991, and was also a man of superb intellect. He was Moderator of the Free Church General Assembly in 1983. Rev Angus Macleod was minister from 1992 until 2006.
